Folk Festival Survival Kit

by Kait Kucy · 0 comments

The Calgary Folk Music Festival is a way of life. It truly is. It is practically a religion. In fact, I know people who don’t even go to Folk Fest because they are so intimidated by the cult-like following the city has adopted for the welcoming festival. But not you. You wait all year long to run like a mad person to throw down a tarp on some early morning dewy grass, don’t you? All in the name and love of music and summer.

Whether you are attending for the first time or you’ve been going for so long you don’t even know how many years it has been, there is one thing that won’t be denied: arriving prepared is absolute key for this best fest. The ultimate way to enjoy the festival is to stay dry, comfortable and hydrated.

Here are a couple must-haves from in-and-around Downtown Calgary to keep in mind while packing your tote for Folk Fest this year:

The Blanket – Hanson’s Fishing Outfitters, 813 First Street Southwest

The Mug – Hudson Bay Company, 200 8 Avenue Southwest

The Carry-All – Hanson’s Fishing Outfitters, 813 First Street Southwest

The Tarp – Dollar Store, Suite 280-222 8 Ave SW

The Chair – Out There, 151 8 Avenue Southwest

The Sanitizer – Shoppers Drug Mart, 317 7 Avenue Southwest
