A New Home For Market Collective

by Kait Kucy · 0 comments

Everyone needs a good home – even markets. I couldn’t be happier that our friends at Market Collective have found a temporary home at the Mewata Armory. An exciting move on their part, bringing the market into downtown Calgary, namely the developing West end of downtown, is going to breathe new life into the area, and the beautiful market.

If you haven’t been to Market Collective before, essentially it is an amazing collection of independent artists, crafters, designers, artisans sharing their wonderful wares with you in a marketplace setting. Pair that up with incredible music by local musicians and performers and you’ve got the perfect day in the sun. It is really hard to leave without finding at least one treasure to take home with you. There is usually is some delicious food and coffee to indulge in as well. Don’t forget to bring cash!

Celebrating their fifth year of markets, the collective is going to be a summertime hive of activity for the arts & culture scene in our beloved downtown. Their first market of the summer will be held on July 19, 20 + 21 and will showcase some of the best designers, artists, musicians and makers that this city has to offer.

Mewata Armory is located at 801 11 Street SW.
