This week downtown was treated to a mobile fashion show, and two unsuspecting (and very lucky!) brownbaggers got a serious lunch upgrade. These events – with many more to come – are part of downtown’s Get Back to Style in September promotion.
The fashion show had models strutting through +15s clad in great new fall styles from downtown retailer Tristan. There will be plenty more of these shows throughout September. They could happen anywhere – ideally outside (weather permitting) where we’ll bring the catwalk to a crosswalk near you. If you see our bright pink banner and pink-shirted paparazzi you’ll know a fashion show is about to break out.
For our “guerilla dining” event two folks we spotted at Eau Claire market were treated to duck confit and dessert served up by the talented chefs of Q Haute Cuisine. Our diners loved their lunch and with a cozy table for two with white linens, stemware and and polished silverware it sure beats a park bench. We’ll be looking out for people to treat to impromptu gourmet lunches all this month. It could happen to you - so you might want to dress up for lunch!

I’m glad you liked the tacos. They looked so good that I was a little bit jealous, but maybe I’ll have some at the Metropolitan Grill soon. We might even get patio weather soon **crosses fingers**.
