Where to Celebrate Grey Cup 2012

by Shannon Calhoun · 0 comments

Red jerseys are already making their way onto the streets as anticipation builds for the Calgary Stampeders to bring home the coveted Grey Cup.

It’s an exciting time for our home team, as not only are they playing for the cup this Sunday, but running back Jon Cornish was just named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian.

If you can’t make it to Toronto, don’t fret!  There will be plenty of Grey Cup celebrations here in Calgary for you to cheer on the Stamps.  Here are a couple of noteworthy parties to check out.

THE PALOMINO SMOKEHOUSE

The Palomino will be be serving up their famous Cowboy Breakfast until 3:00pm. They’ll also have 1/2 price starters and cans of Canadian and Coors Light on for $4.oo. More details can be found here.

FLAMES CENTRAL

Watch Flames Central become Stampeders Central on Sunday, November 25. If you love football the closest you’ll get to the real thing is watching it in their ‘virtual arena’ on a theatre style 30 foot HD projection screen, plus 150 other plasma screens.  Doors at 2:00pm, kick off starts at 4:00pm and $16 buckets of Canadian and Coors are on special. Reservations are recommended.

BELOW DECK TAVERN

Below Deck Tavern will open at 3:00pm with happy hour pricing all day!   They have deep fried pepperoni on their menu.  Enough said.

EARLS AT BANKERS HALL

Earls at Bankers Hall plans to have the sound up to cheer for the Stamps.  It’s also Caesar Sunday, the perfect hair of the dog if Saturday night was a rough one!

THE UNICORN PUB

The Unicorn Pub will open at noon and be serving up breakfast until 2:00pm.  They will also have two feature food items:  Spolumbo’s chorizo sausage on a bun for $13 and pork finger ribs for $10.  Wash it all down with happy hour specials all day long and $4.00 Touchdown Tequila shots.

Now that you know where to go, paint your face red and get out there and show some team spirit!  Go Stamps Go!!!
