Plan a Party: Springy Brunch Gathering

by Kait Kucy · 0 comments

Happy Spring, all of your downtown dwellers! The weather is finally taking a turn for the better and all I can think about is getting together with friends over coffee and scheming up some plans for summer. Spring finally arriving and the Easter long weekend coming up are definitely two causes for celebration. Plan a springy brunch gathering with your friends this weekend with some beautiful spring-inspired decor items to set your table, all from shops in downtown Calgary.

The key to setting this brunch table is finding plates, cups and decor that you will want to use again and again, from spring into summer. I fell in love with the Kate Spade ‘About Town’ line of ceramics - bright, colourful and a great illustration on each piece, these bring a playful vibe to the table. You could go for a more formal look with classic gold rimmed dishes but I thought these were a lot of fun for welcoming in the season. The birdie string twinkle lights just bring a bit more ambient lighting to your table and when the weather gets even warmer you can move them outdoors for a night-time cocktail party.

A great glass like the pink tumbler just makes drinking water or orange juice more fun and brings another beautiful colour to your palette. The checkered bread basket and robin’s egg candles were just so springy looking - they absolutely had to be part of this brunch. And lastly, you cannot have brunch without coffee and the Bialetti coffee maker is an excellent way to ensure your caffeine intake for the weekend. Don’t forget to stop by Cafe Rosso to pick up a bag of coffee beans!
