An Easter Brunch by the River

by Shannon Calhoun · 0 comments

This Easter if you’d like to spend more time celebrating with family and friends, and less in the kitchen, the River Café is hosting an Easter Brunch.

With temperatures expected to climb well above zero this weekend it should be the perfect weather for a nice jaunt along the River Walk and through Prince’s Island Park to enjoy a delicious a la carte brunch menu.

Just looking at their menu had me drooling. There are so many amazing options, and I could only narrow my picks down to five:

Foraged Chanterelle, Leek & Nostrala Quiche with Kale Salad, Lemon Vinaigrette

Brioche French Toast with Honeycrisp Apple, Maple Spiced Creme Fraiche

Kale, Caramelized Onion & Gouda Frittata with Quinoa, Delicata Squash, Mixed Greens

J&M Rabbit Pot Pie with French Lentils, Butternut Squash, Heritage Greens

Eggs Benedict Choice Of: North Fork Ranch Elk Bacon or Yellowfoot Chanterelle, served with Brown Butter Hollandaise, and Roast Potato

Guess I’m going to have to rely on eeny, meeny, miny, moe for this one!

Recent accolades for the River Cafe include being voted one of Canada’s Top 50 Restaurants in 2012 by MacLeans Magazine; Best Canadian Cuisine 2012 by Where Magazine; as well as the coveted Birks Silver Spoon Award for Service, which is presented by members of the hotel concierge organization Les Clefs d’Or who honor one restaurant that has outdone itself in serving its guests each year.

Brunch will be available on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am-3:00pm. They are also open all day on Easter Monday.  Due to the popularity of this spot, reservations are recommended.
