Are you ready to celebrate Canada’s 148th birthday? The perfect mid-week holiday, July 1st promises to be a beauty of a day. At time of writing, the forecast says sunny and warm - what could be better as you split up your week with some homegrown patriotic pride. Whether you plan on spending the day at home BBQing on your patio or hitting the streets of Downtown Calgary for some real-time Canadiana, we’ve got you covered in terms of all of the gear you’ll want on your Calgary Canada Day adventure.

Where to Shop:

You can’t go wrong with any sort of red and white ensemble on Canada Day but these three shirts really hit the mark. Keep it cool and classic with the Canada Tank or celebrate in the hip bold stripes of the Hudson Bay Company. Maybe you don’t want to invest in something you may only wear once a year - this men’s button-up from H&M is in the perfect shade of flag red.

  • Brushstrokes Tee, The Bay
  • Short-sleeved Cotton Shirt, H&M

Will you be picnic-ing this Canada Day? With beautiful parks all over downtown just begging for a great picnic sprawl, you’ll find it hard to resist the lure of park punch, sandwiches and a bag of cherries. Every picnic needs a great blanket and this throw from Indigo could not be more perfect - “Every Summer Has a Story” will inspire you to create your own summer story starting now. It is important to stay shaded and hydrated so a great reusable water bottle and Canada-inspired hat are definitely a must-have.

The heat can really do a number on you if you aren’t careful. The Rocky Mountain Soap Company has the perfect remedy for cooling off your toes after walking all day. Their Cool Feet Therapy Spray is so refreshing and smells great! You won’t want to forget to bring sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun - Banana Boat Sport is a good option especially if you plan on being quite active through out the day. And lastly, you need a fun pair of shades to keep your peepers protected from the sun. I love these Canada frames because - obviously they go perfectly with your patriotic uniform!
