Downtown Calgary Thanksgiving 2015

by Downtown Calgary · 0 comments

As more people move in to the inner city, more and more Thanksgiving dining options are popping up in Downtown Calgary! Read on for some ideas on how to enjoy the holiday in the heart of downtown.

The picturesque River Café on Prince’s Island Park is open on holiday Monday for lunch and dinner, as well the restaurant will be serving a Thanksgiving themed brunch all weekend. The River Café was recently named one of the “1001 restaurants to visit before you die” in a new book, so if you haven’t been there yet, this could be a perfect opportunity! You can also offload the chore of cooking to the chefs at River Café as they have options for a fully prepared Thanksgiving dinner featuring free range Alberta turkey that you can enjoy with all the fixings in the comfort of your own home.

The Westin Hotel also offers a “Reserve a Bird” service with both a set meal, and a la carte service. The service serves up to 22 people and even features optional gluten-free stuffing!

Thomsons Restaurant in the Hyatt Regency on Stephen Avenue is serving Thanksgiving meals on Sunday and Monday this year. Choose between a Table d’Hote Thanksgiving dinner option on Oct. 11th & 12th and their famous brunch on October 11th from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Check out the menu and book your table today!

The Fairmont Palliser Hotel’s Thanksgiving feast is already more than half sold out, but you can also “reserve a bird” and get your Thanksgiving Meal To Go.

Looking for some family friendly entertainment? Everyone’s favourite cartoon rabbit will be joining the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra this weekend for Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II on Oct 9th and 10th, 2015.

Looking to give back this Thanksgiving? Contact the Calgary Drop-In and Rehabilitation Centre on how you can donate or volunteer.
