On April 29th, 2016 Downtown Calgary becomes the home of hundreds of cosplayers as they march from Eau Claire Plaza to Olympic Plaza to mark the start of the Calgary Expo with the Parade of Wonders.
Due to popular demand we’ve outfitted Stephen Avenue with bleachers to make the viewing experience even more enjoyable! The parade starts at 10:30am but seats are first-come-first-serve so be sure to get there early to get a great spot to watch all the action. A few seats will be reserved for VIPs, and we’re giving you a chance to become a VIP with our contest!
To be entered to win 1 of 10 pairs of VIP seats, leave a comment on this blog post letting us know who you’d dress up as if you were going to march in the parade. Are you a Star Wars fan or more of a Dr. Who junkie? Trekkie or Otaku? Let us know and you’ll be entered to win! We’ll select names randomly from appropriate answers.
Want to prove you’re a true hardcore fan? You’ll have to work a bit harder for this one… go out on Stephen Avenue between 2nd and 3rd street SW and listen for the Calgary Expo playlist and leave a comment with the song title and artist of one of the songs featured and you’ll get an additional entry in to the random draw PLUS you’ll be entered to win one of 2 four day passes to the Calgary Expo (that’s a big deal!). There are 26 tracks spanning fandom and even some that might make even the diehard fans scratch their heads.
