Your Next Coffee Shop Cubicle in Downtown Calgary

by Downtown Calgary · 1 comment

Are you on-the-go and as busy as ever? I totally get it and as busy professionals, it’s understandable that you need to have options to work from wherever you want, whenever you want (within reasonable business hours, of course).

That being said, there are tons of options within the downtown core that have what you need to stay productive in a social environment – coffee, WIFI and wall outlets. That’s all anyone needs anyway, right?

To get you started on your downtown coffee shop cubicle adventure, here are 4 options I love within the core:

Rosso Coffee Roasters

As a local favourite, Rosso proves to be a great space to get your work done downtown. Located centrally right off of Stephen Ave, this coffee shop is the perfect escape from the traditional work cubicle. No WIFI worries here as the connection is great and there are a few plug-ins around the space to help you avoid that dreaded low battery. This Rosso location also makes for great out-of-office meetings with coworkers so change up the location on your next meeting!

Address: 140 8 Ave SE

Alforno Cafe and Bakery

Opened in early 2016, Alforno offers great coffee and full meals to keep you well-fueled while you work away. They also have amazing daily specials like their pasta and glass of wine deal for $15 on Tuesday’s – heeello! With all the natural light that seeps in through the windows, you’ll be sure to keep a refreshed mind in this coffee shop. There’s also tons of table space and WIFI available here.

Address: 222 7 St SW

Monogram Coffee

Grab a latte and get to work! Monogram, a relatively new addition to the downtown core, is the perfect place to get your work done. A minimalistic and down-to-earth aesthetic is captured here with the use of table top greenery, patterned walls and wooden accents, setting you up for a successful afternoon. WIFI is also available to you in this space.

Address: 420 2 St SW

Deville Coffee

Deville is no stranger to the YYC community and the local love for their Nutella lattes proves just that! Camp out here and skyrocket productivity in this modern space, located just off the train line behind the Court building. There’s plenty of sitting room available as well as a WIFI connection for your convenience.

Address: 600 - 6th Ave SW

Now that you know of these options, where will your next coffee shop cubicle be?
