Find your Flames playoff action downtown!

Hey Flames fans! It’s just about that time to put on your favourite team jersey  and cheer the Flames through the playoffs! Don’t worry, it’s the long weekend so you’ll have plenty of time for your voice (and head) to recover.

If you’re looking for a couple of places downtown to have some drinks with friends, watch the game, and is close to the transit, we have some options for you!

Brews, food and the game

On Stephen Avenue 

Cactus Club Cafe (Stephen Avenue) - CORE Shopping Centre, 317 7 Ave SW #178
They will have Coors light on special, the sound will be on in the lounge and their dining room TVs will be on for your viewing pleasure!

The Bank and Baron Pub - 125 8 Ave SW
has $5 Budweisers during the Flames games and will be doing giveaways for various prizes (such as jerseys, tickets, Bud Red Lights and much more).
 
The Unicorn -  223 8 Ave SW
The Unicorn wants your help to cheer on The Flames! Game sound will be on in The Sports Cantina, $15 Budweiser and Bud Light Pitchers, $4.50 Jack Fire shots. Let’s show who can chant GO FLAMES GO the loudest!
 
Township Bar & Grill is another game destination for the Flames playoff run. All TVs will be on with sound. Come for the game, stay for the food.
 
Paper St. - 102-630 8 Ave SW
Paper St. has specials before and after every game and are super close to the transit line. They have $4, $5, and $6 drinks before every game. If you bring your ticket back to Paper St. after the game, you can get 10% off your entire bill (*street rules apply).
 
Milestones - 107 8 Ave SE
Come in for two can dine for $50 and will be showing the games on their TVs.

 
Earl’s Lounge - 315 8 Avenue SW (Bankers Hall)
Earls Bankers Hall is where you can enjoy $4 bottle of Budweiser all day on game days. 

 

LOCAL 8th Avenue - 310 8 Avenue SW
LOCAL 8th is where the laid-back warmth of a local pub meets the quality of a great neighbourhood restaurant.  With not a bad seat in the house, they will be playing the game with sound and hosting fun games and prize giveaway you won’t want to miss. Their hand-pressed burgers, signature share plates, rotating taps and bold cocktails are just a few reasons why LOCAL 8th Ave is on the list of top places to watch the game.

Garage Sports Bar will be showing every game on the big screen with sound and. . . wait for it. . . a POCKET DOG SPECIAL for $7.50!

Who needs to go to a game when you can have front row seats, a pocket dog in one hand and a cold cheap Budweiser in the other for under $20! They’re taking reservations for the games if you have bigger group of friends.

The Palomino Smokehouse and Social Club - 109 7 Ave SW
They will be showing every game on the big screen with sound, plus sweet, sweet smokey BBQ! (YES, my mouth is watering) Way better than rink food!
If you’re heading to the game, the train is right outside the door!

They will be having 15% off of their famous “Fat-Ass Platter” when you show your home game tickets the day of to staff. They will only be valid before or after the game on game day only. Happy hour is 3 to 6 PM Monday through Friday ($5 pints, tall cans, bottles, high-balls and glasses of wine).

Daytime Flames Fun

GORO+GUN Ramen Tribute
Starting the beginning of the Flames playoff run, GORO+GUN will begin to feature their own special tribute to the Flames - Flames Ramen.  Its a spicy tonkotsu ramen topped with onsen egg, char siu/pork belly, a delicious garlic confit and full of umami!

Show your Calgary Flames pride this playoff season with the CORE! We’ve got our Flames Hotspot popping up on the fourth level where you have a chance to win a Calgary Flames jersey! Simply stop by our hotspot and snap a selfie with our Calgary Flames flag, post to social media tagging @COREShopping and using the hashtag #COREplayoffs to be entered. A random winner will be announced at the end of each round of the playoffs!

Contest starts Wednesday April 12th and runs until the Calgary Flames end their run in the NHL Playoffs, 2017.

In tribute of the Calgary Flames Playoff run, the City of Calgary has brought out the flaming “C” sculpture. Visitors can stop by and take a photo of themselves and their friends…or rub it for luck!?
