Quick Shop: Stocking Stuffers for Foodies

If you’re feeling pressed for time this holiday season and you work in the downtown core, there are some excellent options for you to run and grab gifts on your break or after work.

Need some tasty treats and other kitchen delights for the foodie in your life’s stockings, there are definitely some great options for you!

Meat & Bread, which opened recently in the Grain Exchange building to much fanfare, not only sells delicious sandwiches, but also their own salt rub, sambal, and mustard for $7 each, or all three for $18. Please Santa! Located at 821 1 St SW. Open Monday-Saturday from 11:00AM – 5:00PM, closed on Sunday.

Land & Sea has a fantastic selection of cheeky tea towels and oven mitts by Blue Q. They also carry a lot of other unique kitchen items that put a fun spin on every day function.

The SAIT Culinary Campus and The TASTEMARKET by SAIT both provide numerous options for stockings. From their house-made sauces (think…..Thai Green Curry, Beet Ketchup, Apricot & Bourbon BBQ Sauce, and beyond) to Wildly Delicious smoked oils and more. Availability varies at each location.

If you didn’t have time to do your holiday baking this year, they also have an amazing selection of baked goods. Santa won’t mind if you didn’t bake the cookies yourself!  Plus, if you want to up your culinary game, they offer cooking classes at both locations, which would also make an amazing gift.

SAIT Culinary Campus is located in Scotia Centre on the second floor 226, 230 - 8 Ave SW. They are generally open Monday to Friday from 7:00AM – 4:00PM, but as Christmas nears please check their site for hours, as this is a school.

The TASTEMARKET by SAIT is located at 444 7 Ave SW. They are generally open Monday to Friday from 7:00am - 5:30pm, but as Christmas nears please check their site for hours, as this is a school.

Artesano Galleria
is such a fun shop to browse through. Whether you’re looking for something functional (they carry high quality serving and kitchenware from popular brands like Trudeau and Zeal) or something fun and collectible, they have an amazing selection of unique goods.  Know someone that hates trying to spread cold butter? Check out the SpreadThat! heat-conductive butter knife…there’s also an ice cream scoop!

If you haven’t checked out the kitchenware section at Maison Simons yet, it’s time to get yourself there. They have some really cool stuff ranging from aprons and oven mitts, to this sweet little salt house, and everything to set the perfect table.

Located at 304 8 Ave SW, Unit 100, kitchen ware is on the second floor. Check out their holiday hours here.

Chocolate filled Yule logs, festive molds, hand-dipped cherries, hot cocoa mix, and much more. You’ll find a delicious treat to add to any stocking. Order online or personalize the gift in person.
