Calgary Folk Music Festival

July 24, 25, 26, 27 - The annual Festival is a four-day family-friendly cultural and musical jamboree at the bucolic Prince’s Island Park that celebrates over 70 artists from Alberta, Canada and the world on 6 daytime and 2 evening stages and in concerts and sessions – unpredictable, magical curated mash-ups where artists share songs and stories and collaborate. It is a must-attend event for music and event lovers; an essential community gathering for 53,000 Calgarians and tourists.

Saturday, July 26th - Calgary’s first Iranian Art and Culture Festival invites you to experience the contemporary urban tunes of today’s hottest Iranian music, famously featured in the award-winning film Nobody Knows about Persian Cats. Let your tastebuds indulge in the exotic tastes of Persian cuisine and confectionary infused with the rich aroma of saffron, turmeric, and rosewater. Our live stage performances will feature London-based alternative rock band “Ali Azimi”, Iranian fusion band “Ajam”, Calgary’s own mystic erfani dancer “Nilou Davoudi - Manjoon Dance Academy”, and many more. Come and learn first-hand about the ancient techniques of producing elegant Persian rugs and calligraphy. Special entertainment for kids to be provided.
