CharCut has started a little something called Meat Sundays, for which they come up with a new creation each week and invite people to come sit around the communal table and share it. Bliss Bakery in Chinatown lives up to its name

I can’t stand to think of all the time I wasted not knowing about Bliss & Co. I had heard about it, lots, and even heard rumour of how great their cupcakes were. The best in the city, even. (They won best overall cupcake in a taste test at Avenue Magazine. For real!)

Well. I’m a bit of a cupcake fan. Those are big words. I think I was afraid to confirm that cupcakes that good were available so close to where I live. (more…)

Earth Hour Dinner at Thomsons

I love to see corporate entities participating in events like Earth Hour. So if I can show my support by going for a three-course meal made from ingredients sourced within a 150 mile radius, it’s the very least I can do.

At Thomsons, they’re celebrating Earth Hour all week long with a special menu featuring ingredients sourced from within 150 miles of the hotel. (These ingredients and others can be found on their menu year-round; they are regular suppliers, all drawn together to create a single meal for this occasion.) On Saturday March 27, it will be served in the true spirit of Earth Hour, as they offer dinner service by candlelight. The best part: this three-course meal is only $35 - the best deal I’ve seen in ages.

UPDATE: Thomsons has extended their Earth Hour menu until Sunday, April 4, 2022 because of it’s popularity. (more…)
