Amid the headquarters mecca in downtown Calgary are two of our cities most influential post-secondary institutions. They are a key part of downtown’s all inclusive nature, a place where you will find everything from the best Calgary restaurants and shops to businesses and educational facilities.

Bow Valley College and the University of Calgary downtown campuses are essential in providing educational opportunities for thousands of people from all walks of life.

While both institutions have a different focus on what programs are offered, they do have the common goal of providing students with the best education possible.

Bow Valley College (BVC)

One of the newest and most exciting buildings in downtown Calgary is Bow Valley College’s South Campus. The expansion has given the post-secondary institution the ability to increase its student capacity two-fold to around 20,000 students.

Bow Valley College offers a wide variety of certificate and diploma programs, specializing in…

  • Academic Upgrading
  • Administration
  • Business
  • Continuing Education
  • Health Care
  • Human Services
  • Justice
  • English Languages
  • International Students

Reaching Bow Valley College’s downtown campus is as simple as getting off at the City Hall LRT station. South doors are found directly on the LRT platform, what a bonus!

The facilities focus is continuing education, with approximately 86 different courses offered, and is a tool in connecting university students and its researchers with Calgary’s downtown community.

Major departments found in the U of C downtown campus include…

  • School of Public Policy
  • Student and Enrolment Services
