7st cycle track at 5 Ave

The City Of Calgary is issuing a call to artists to help spruce up 7th street along the new cycle tracks.

The City of Calgary is seeking photographic images taken by professional photographers for five Signal Box wraps to be located along on the new 7th Street SW cycle track. The 7th street track is a newlydeveloped two-way track, between 1st & 8th avenue SW, dedicated solely to bicycle traffic.

The goal of the project is to showcase local artists and contribute to the overall vitality of the downtown core through public art.

You’ll no doubt have already noticed many of these signal boxes that have art displayed on them, or have become a work of art themselves.

Artist will be paid $1000 for their contributions but hurry, the deadline for submission is August 9th, 2013.

Download the PDF for full details and instructions on how to submit your photography.

See this page for more information on the 7th Street Cycle Track.
