We’re back to our regular scheduling! Start your week with some Monday motivation with our Monday Blues series on the Stephen Avenue Summer Stage. By the weekend, you’ll be ready to move your hips with  ZUMBA® at the Fiestaval Latin Festival.

MONDAY BLUES | Select Mondays in July and August

Through July and August, we are hosting the Monday Blues series, curated by Calgary International Blues Fest. Every Monday from noon to 1pm. we welcome you to site back and enjoy some Blues at the Stephen Avenue Summer Stage during your lunch hour.

STAGE LOCATION
Located on Stephen Avenue (8th Avenue SE) between Centre Street and 1st Street SE by the Telus Convention Centre.

 ZUMBA® FITNESS MASTER CLASS | July 22 & 23, 2017

July 22 and 23, 2017, come and have an awesome FREE Zumba Master Class with Calgary’s top Zumba instructors and another 3000 people like you.

ZUMBA® is a fusion of Latin and International music / dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and based on the principle that a workout should be “FUN AND EASY TO DO.” The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you’ll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

STRONG AND FREE | July through December 2017

Stand Strong and Free as you strike your best superhero pose with Bankers Hall in celebration of Canada 150.

“You’re strong and free, and research shows-more confident! When you hold a pose like the superhero pose for as little as two minutes, your mood, strength and ability to deal with stressful situations improves.”

Now through the month of December, find the superhero mural in the +15 North Bridge at Bankers Hall for a chance to win a Canada 150 prize pack each month. All you need to do is capture a photo of yourself or your friends in the your best superhero pose and post or share to social with the hashtag #myCanada.

Winners will be selected at random each month and contacted directly by the organizers.

 

FIESTAVAL LATIN FESTIVAL |July 21-23, 2017

Fiestaval Latin Festival is a free and family-oriented, multicultural arts and entertainment festival highlighting the Latin American Culture.

It will take place in the heart of downtown Calgary at the Calgary Olympic Plaza July 21-23, 2017. It is an opportunity to support Calgary’s Latin community while encouraging multiculturalism among all Calgarians. Over 25 authentic Food Vendors, International Latin bands and shows, amazing kids area, beer gardens, artisan market and so much more.

CONTEMPORARY KIDS: CITYSCAPE COLLAGES | July 23, 2022

Each iteration of this monthly series will focus on one specific artwork, artist, or theme found in our current exhibitions, welcoming families for a brief tour followed by an engaging activity developed specifically for children, ages 5-12.

Cityscape Collages will have children cut and collage photos to create unique cityscapes, linking to exhibiting artist Isabelle Hayeur’s composite urban images.
