Street Style Huntress: October, a truly inspiring month

by Aldona Barutowicz · 0 comments

Who knew that October, and the turn from our 5 minute fall to full-on winter, could be delightful and amazing?

Sometimes I have the pleasure of meeting and photographing someone that is truly inspiring, creative and breathes a breath of fresh air not only into the world of street style and fashion, but personally inspires me as a street style photographer. This is exactly what happened when I had the great luck of bumping into Linda, with her bright red and furry ensemble. Not only was she an inspiration in general, but truly made me feel a lot better about winter arriving in Calgary. Who said that the cold winter months have to be drab, boring and uninspired? Exactly.

And if that weren’t enough, there was more goodness in store for me in October. One of my favourite street style blogs that I’ve been following for years is Finland based Hel-looks…and Olivia’s fur hat, clear glasses and heavy knit sweater made me feel like I was already visiting the city of my dreams, as her style is reminiscent of Helsinki and the type of style that the blog is well known for.

So celebrate winter with a little bit of colour, a little bit of fur (faux, of course), and make the best of the cold and snowy streets. Take it from Linda, winter can be bold and fun!

Stay tuned for November 16th, as I contribute a special Street Style Huntress post and capture and turn my camera on a stylish Calgarian for a full outfit breakdown. Things are about to get super hot this winter!

And now, for a little fall and winter…Love the leather, hats, scarves and toques!
