City in Colour: Orange

Colour is everywhere when you start looking for it. I’ve been particularly inspired finding colour all over downtown Calgary lately and it has spurred me to start a new blog series revolving around colour found in the city. Each post I will be essentially playing a game of ‘I Spy’ and finding a new colour in the area and then matching it up with great products that you can find downtown for your shopping pleasure!

This week’s colour is Orange as inspired by the permanent installation of these orange poles in Olympic Plaza. Each pole represents a public park in Calgary, with the height representing the park’s age. It was constructed for the Calgary Parks Centennial Celebration and is absolutely wonderful to see, even though many of us walk past it everyday without a second thought!

Turns out orange is everywhere in the stores too as well as pop culture! May have something to do with the new Netflix series ‘Orange is the New Black’ that everyone is tuning in to! With so much to choose from these are my favourite summer orange finds available at The CORE + Fashion Central:

Men’s Striped Tee, GAP

Orange Vans Sneakers, Little Burgundy

Orange Twist Front Swimsuit, Bluenotes

Executors Boots, Fluevog

Tortoise Shades, Aldo

Contrast Socks, Club Monaco

The Heart Wants Tank, Aritzia

Herschel Supply Backpack, Little Burgundy
