Step Up Challenge 2017

by Downtown Calgary · 0 comments

On Sunday February 12th, 2017, Prostate Cancer Canada will be hosting the Step Up Challenge in downtown Calgary. Participants will get the chance to climb 5 of the tallest towers in the city, while raising money and awareness for cancer research. All proceeds raised at the Step Up Challenge Calgary will be supporting the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.

But don’t do this vertical hurl alone; teams of five will be challenged to climb 5,000 feet while raising a minimum of $5,000. Register today and throw down the gauntlet as you challenge your colleagues to stair-climb to the top!

Stair climbing is a great sport that improves the fitness level of each participant and burns more calories than walking or running. However, just because it is a challenge, doesn’t mean that you can’t do it. From experienced athletes to first time stair climbers, the Step Up Challenge is a challenge that everyone can meet! Like with any athletic activity, you need to find the elements that work for you.

Stair climbing not sounding like your thing, but still interested in participating?

For this event to be successful, we will need lots of volunteers for the day of the event.

Some of the available roles are:

  • Team leader (Leadership position)
  • Building Supervisor (Leadership position)
  • Guest Services
  • Volunteer Services
  • Race Marshal
  • Time Keeper
  • Runners
  • Drivers (Leadership Position)

Join the thousands of people across Canada who are coming together to help improve the odds for the 1 in 8 men who will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

Date and Time:

February 12th, 2017 – 8am-12pm

Location:

Scotia Centre downtown Calgary (700 2nd St SW)
