This week brings us into the second week of the High Performance Rodeo festival. If you’re looking to shift gears a bit, drop in for an author reading with Nikki Reimer, a [email protected] series performance, a new theatre production or an intimate Flamenco performance filled with song, music and dance!

anuary 10, 17 & 24, 2017

[email protected] brings together artists and audiences in the historic Cathedral Church of the Redeemer at the heart of Calgary’s cultural district.

The ProArts Noon Concert Series presents free concerts every Wednesday from 12—1 pm, contributing to Calgary’s vibrant arts community through diverse performances year round.

The Oberon Guitar Trio — Brad Mahon, Murray Visscher, and Ralph Maier — are one of Canada’s most recognizable ensembles. You’ve probably heard them on public radio across North America.

The group is committed to performing pieces written specifically for the guitar trio genre, with a focus on new and commissioned works.

Upcoming Shows
JANUARY 17 - Jossy Gallegos of Zihuatanejo, Mexico and Tim Williams of Calgary, Canada.
JANUARY 24 - Middle East Meets Klezmer Project

Held over the lunch hour, this series invites Calgarians working in the downtown core to enjoy their lunch while listening to talks and presentations by artists whose work blends modes of writing with the visual arts.

NIKKI REIMER is a carbon-based life form residing on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 people of Southern Alberta (Calgary). She may or may not be undead. Reimer writes poetry, non-fiction and criticism, organizes in community, yells on the internet, and makes digital art.

What happened last night on the dance floor? Two friends attempt to retrace their steps to figure out just how it all ended in an explosive fight. In their effort to figure out the facts, both friends shift from self to alter-ego and are met with stunning revelations. BODY SO FLUORESCENT is inviting and outrageous -asking difficult questions about blackness, otherness and relational oppressions.

BODY SO FLUORESCENT returns to Calgary from its premiere at the IGNITE! Festival in June 2017, where it received an overwhelmingly positive response. After tour stops in Stratford and the United States, madonnanera is thrilled to finesse and finalize BODY SO FLUORESCENT at Theatre Junction GRAND.

Tickets: $20

January 13 - February 11, 2022

When everyone is a suspect, will our rookie detective be able to discern clues and see that justice is served? Join the adventure as the audience gets embroiled in a mystery they will never forget.
