What to Wear: Changing Seasons

Brrr! Anyone else feel a certain chill in the air today? Since summer can’t last forever (oh, how I wish it would) we’ve got to start thinking about how to fill out our wardrobes with great layering pieces that will keep us toasty warm all autumn and winter long. Look for coats that you can fit a sweater underneath and a great pair of leather boots that will keep your toes warm but still look polished. I’ve searched high and low for a few essentials to add to your collection - these are just ideas however, so find what fits in your wardrobe.

A cozy and stylish cardigan is exactly what you need for cool afternoons when you need to run to the cafe to feed your pumpkin spice latte addiction. I fell in love with the pseudo nautical vibe of this Drapey Striped Cardigan (GAP). Fairly neutral, it will fit in nicely with a lot of your wardrobe and will transition perfectly for weekend wear. Throw on with a pair of jeans and a white tee = brunch classic!

I am pretty much a firm believer that everyone needs a pair of good rubber boots or namely Hunter Boots (Little Burgundy). So great for dealing with all kinds of weather (and floods as we learned this past June) and you can fit a great pair of thick socks in them and stay toasty warm well until the snow falls.

One of your most important accessories this fall will be a great hat. Bowler, fedoras, ball caps - whatever fits your look make sure you pick up something made of quality materials. This classic Felt Hat (Tristan) is the perfect example of a hat you won’t want to take off all season long. Pair it with your favourite fall car coat and some great boots for an instant style boost.

Nothing makes me feel cozier on a cold day than some super soft socks. These Cable Knit Knee Socks  (H&M) will go with everything!

Swipe away on your smartphone with these Grey Button Smart Touch Gloves (Aldo). The best part? The gold finger tips!

Everyone needs a great scarf the season. Go with something that has a bold pattern but in neutral tones so you can wear it all the time. I like this versatile Printed Scarf from BCBG.
