Parade of Wonders 2016 - April 29, 2022

The POW! Parade of Wonders is an annual cosplay parade celebrating pop culture and creativity in Calgary’s downtown. Watch on Stephen Avenue as hundreds of costumed characters march from Eau Claire to Olympic Plaza to kick off the Calgary Expo.

If you’re marching, be sure to get there at 9am to check-in, if you’re watching you can get a spot on either Stephen Avenue (8th ave SW from 3rd street to Olympic Plaza) or along 3rd Street SW. Bring down the family (tell your boss and your kids’ teacher that you’ve all come down with a case of Pac-Man fever) and enjoy this unique event in Downtown Calgary.

Free Poetry reading - April 27, 2022

In celebration of National Poetry Month, Downtown Calgary and Bankers Hall are hosting a Pop Up Poetry Reading at Bankers Hall +15 on Wednesday, April 27.

The reading features performances by a collection of individuals including Calgary’s new Poet Laureate, Kirk Miles from Calgary’s longest running spoken word series The Single Onion, Sheri-D Wilson from the Calgary Spoken Word Society and Christa Mayer and Jeremy Parks from the Calgary Slam Team and some special guests.

Stephen ave market - April 26, 2022

Downtown Libations - April 27, 2022

Our monthly happy hour event is back for April and this month we’ll be at Hy’s Steakhouse. From 4-6pm on Wednesday, April 27th you can enjoy some great drinks and appetizers at Hy’s Steakhouse. No Ticket or RSVP required, just tell the hostess you’re there for ‘Downtown Libations’.

Free Live Jazz Performance- April 30, 2022

The Dynamic Duo plays live on the Stephen Avenue stage. The Dynamic Duo is comprised of Corinne Plomish (vocals) and Ralf Buschmeyer (guitar). This seasoned pair have very impressive bios and tons of live and concert experience as performers. If you like Diana Krall, traditional jazz, Larry Carlton, smooth jazz, and a splash of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, you’d be in the right place. Come on out and hear these musicians. You won’t be disappointed.
