Naughty Or Nice Downtown Scavenger Hunt

This contest is over. For the most recent downtown information please visit GetDown.ca

Downtown Calgary can be a pretty magical place over the holidays.

Skating at Olympic Plaza, winter walks around Prince’s Island park, shopping on Stephen Avenue. It’s a winter wonderland minus the ‘One Horse Open Sleigh’ (maybe one day).

To help you get in the festive season, Downtown Calgary, Country 105 and Breakfast Television are teaming up for the Naughty or Nice Downtown Scavenger Hunt. Why Naughty or Nice? Because you can work as a team and share the grand prize with your friends, work individually and give your prize away as gifts, or work individually and keep the entire prize to yourself. It’s your choice!

If you’ve never participated in a scavenger hunt before, here’s a quick rundown of how it all works:

  • Each day we release a new clue on Breakfast Television, Country 105 and our own website/social media channels
  • Each clue has a fact, photo, or physical object that can be found in Downtown Calgary
  • To be entered to win you must collect all 12 clues and bring them to the Devonian Gardens on December 16th (1 – 5pm)
  • On December 16th there will be a holiday party at the Devonian Gardens with snacks, crafts and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus
  • The winner of the $2400 grand prize package will be drawn randomly, live on Country 105
  • Additional prizes will be awarded hourly throughout the event for all participants who collected the 12 items

Sneak Preview Clue:
“What is the year on this famous feminist hero’s journal? See the ‘Famous 5’ downtown…”

You can use any tools at your disposable to solve the clue, but some clues will require you to collect proof of visit from certain locations which may include a photograph of some sort.

If you’re having troubles with the clues, we will have hints and other help on the Downtown Calgary Facebook Page, our Twitter feed, and here on the blog.

Now that you’ve got all of that down, I’m sure you’re wondering what’s in that huge prize package….
