The rock and roll musical Hedwig & the Angry Inch hits the stage in downtown Calgary for a limited engagement this weekend. This award winning play is coming back to Calgary after winning the 2008 Fast Forward Magazine Readers’ Choice Award.
For those who haven’t yet been acquainted with Hedwig, the musical follows the titular character as she escapes the communist confines of 1980’s east Berlin. She shares her dramatic and unique life through song, and we learn about her search for the Rock Star that will make her whole again.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch runs at the Studio in Vertigo Theatre, November 7th to 17th.
Evening shows are at 8pm, Tues-Sun. Additional matinee performances Sat. November 9th, Sat. November 16th, Sun. November 10th and Sun. November 17th at 2:30pm. November 7th is a $10 Preview performance. Friday, November 8th is Opening Night.
