BACK TO SCHOOL COOL STYLE ROUNDUP

BACKTOSCHOOL_COOL-smHello September! Can you believe the kids are already back to school? We are in fall fashion mode in Downtown Calgary and I can’t wait to share some of the sweet kiddo finds that I unearthed in the CORE Shopping Centre! Yes, you can find really great stuff for kids right downtown - you don’t have to leave the city center for a suburban mall! If you happen to be the parent of one of those cool inner-city kids, we’ve got a great selection of fun children clothing here that is perfect for back to school.

First off, a cool backpack is an absolute essential for back-to-school. For many kids who have a dress code or a uniform, their backpack is their only source of self-expression. You can’t get any more fun that the Herschel backpacks thanks to their great prints and patterns. Whether your child prefers polkadots or primary colours, they have something for everyone. I love these two bright and quirky bags from Little Burgundy, one that is nature inspired and the other that has a slight nautical vibe to it with the bold stripes.

You may have noticed in the local street fashion scene that adults have started to dress more like children these days. Why should kids get all of the fun with bright and splashy colours and playful looks? This yellow raincoat is perfect for fall and paired with a bright sweatshirt like this New York softie from H&M, your kid will have the cheeriest outfit on the street. You may want to steal their look yourself.

A great pair of sneaks will get your children through the year. I found three pairs that are a lot of fun and will go with just about everything. Both high tops and low tops in black are great choices though if you want to keep the colour exploding, these both come in other colours. Glow in the dark sneakers are pretty awesome so these would definitely be a must-have for any kiddo who loves a bit of fun.

Lastly, I love the Canadiana-inspired gear from Roots. Their kids clothes are a lot of fun. The puffy red plaid vest is a great piece for layering as the weather gets cooler. The Canada short sleeved sweatshirt is a super comfortable piece also great for layering.
